Sandi and I started working at the Jewish Home of Rochester around the same time, and we became friends almost immediately, as we both enjoyed one another's humor and wit. No one could be as fun as Sandi! We once "snuck" some peonies home that the Jewish Home was going to transplant. I still have those, and several other plants she dug up for me, along with some very nice lamps. She was generous of spirit as well, and truly had a warm and loving heart especially towards her four legged friends.
I am sorry that life became so complicated and challenging for her. I imagine those challenges made your relationship with her hard, as it did with her friends as well. Being a sibling to all of you was such a central part of her story, coming from a big family was something we shared, I know she loved you all very much and you were important to her. During Our last email exchange she mentioned she was so upset about one of your health issues she felt she could not get together, that must have been shortly before she died. My condolences.
