Obituary of Charleton C. Bard

ROCHESTER - Loving Husband and Father of 4 children, passed away on November 7, 2019 at the age of 95. Charleton was born on February 2, 1924 in Chicago, IL to the late Carl and Clementine Bard. He received his Ph.D in Chemistry from the University of Chicago in 1950 and worked his entire career at Eastman Kodak Company. On June 22, 1946, he married the love of his life, Evelyn Sievers and they were married for 67 years. Charleton served his country in the United States Army during WWII. Charleton had a passion for music, playing saxaphone and singing. He loved to be active and enjoyed skiing, tennis, handball, gymnastics, swimming, boating, and hiking. He also loved to read and surrounded himself with books of all kinds. He was known for his sense of humor and keen intelligence. Charleton was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn(Pete) and his brother Kenneth. He is survived by his 4 children, Candace (John), Carl (Priscilla), Richard (Susan), and Priscilla (Kenneth), his brother William, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Evelyn S. and Charleton C.
