Obituary of Harvey M. Brown

Harvey Maurice Brown, 62, of Rochester, NY died peacefully on March 22, 2020 at Highland Hospital. Born in Manhattan, NY on January 28, 1958, he was the son of Howard and Mae Brown and the loving husband of Cheryl (Lawrence) Brown. Harvey graduated from Charlotte High School in Rochester, NY and then went on to start a family and worked in the manufacturing industry for 20+ years. Harvey was known to many as a very kind and gentle soul. He was often seen sporting a big smile, wearing a NY baseball cap, and making others laugh. He had an infectious personality and was known to give everyone a special nickname. Harvey truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures such as spending quality time with family and friends, cooking on the grill, listening to oldies, and watching his favorite TV programs. He was a diehard fan of the NY Jets football team and enjoyed watching cooking shows and westerns. Harvey was a humble and thoughtful man of his word and exuded a quiet sense of strength and dignity. He will be remembered most for his kindness and generosity, and as a loyal and devoted companion, son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is predeceased in death by his parents, Howard and Mae Brown; and son, Tafeek Bradley. He is survived by his wife Cheryl (Lawrence) Brown of Rochester, NY; children, Preston Lawrence of Rochester, NY, Meghan Brown of Rochester, NY, Marie Brown of Rochester, NY, Alan Lea of Rochester, NY, Maurice Brown of Rochester, NY, Chiqueeta Lea of Charlotte, NC, and Zion Duhart of Rochester, NY; 5 siblings; 13 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and a host of other loved ones. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at a later date.
