Obituary of Margaret Schnurbusch

Margaret “Peggy” Schnurbusch (72) 02/19/1948-04/09/2020 Peggy passed away peacefully, after a hard fought battle with lung cancer, with her loved ones, in her own home and with her cat, Tommie, by her side. She was born to Royce R. and Katherine (Knapp) Owens and was raised in Morrisville, NY, with her siblings: Bobby (d), Lois (d), Ruth (d), Elaine, and Neil Owens. She wed Daniel C. Schnurbusch, son of Frederick and Winifred (Barrie) Schnurbusch, on 05/28/1965 and was married for 50 years until his death in Nov., 2015. They had three children, six grandchildren and 2 great grand children. She is survived by her daughter, Michele Miles; son and daughter-in-law, Neil and Tammy Schnurbusch; daughter and son-in-law, Tamie and Woody Sins; daughter-in-law, Lauree Schnurbusch and daughter Rhonda Harper; grandchildren, Daniel Miles and his daughter, Maddison Kozak (2); Laura Miles and Anthony Mayhew and their daughter, Kloee Mayhew-Miles(9) and son, Jason Mayhew(12) and Desiree Warney; Brett Schnurbusch; Cammie Schnurbusch; BellaDonna Sins and Andrew Sins; sister, Elaine Owens; brother and sister-in-law, Neil and Sandy Owens; sister-in-law, Patricia Schnurbusch and nieces and nephews: Rebecca (David) Shaw and Veronica Owens; Teresa Gregory (Daniel Huddock), Beth Gregory and Stacy Owens; Erica (Dan) Luce; Glen Schnurbusch, Penny (Ron) Sodon and Diane (Steve) Yeager; Martina Schnurbusch (Paul Carter), Linda Moraco, Scott (Karen) Schnurbusch, Karen Schnurbusch (Jeff Barnhouse), John (Jeanna) Schnurbusch, Julie Schnurbusch and many great nieces and nephews, friends and relatives including her life-long friends: Cathy Moore, Margaret Markowski, Grace Harrington and Marie Bishop. She was predeceased by her parents, Kay and Royce; three siblings, Bobby, Lois and Ruth; mother and father-in-law, Fred and Winnie Schnurbusch; brother-in-law John V. Schnurbusch; brother and sister-in-law, Mickey and Alice Schnurbusch; nephew, Freddy Schnurbusch. Peggy and Dan opened their home to many family and friends throughout the years. They never had much money, but they did have love and compassion for everyone. If you were down on your luck, broke or homeless you found a home and an extended family with the Schnurbusches. She left that home on several occasions to take care of and nurse family back to health. She was first and foremost a care-giver. If you were sick or injured, you wanted her to take care of you, no one else. She had a natural ability to take care of the sick and put your mind at ease. She had a gentle touch and excellent bedside manner. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren: Michele got her accounting degree, Neil can fix almost anything and adapt to any situation, Tamie got her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees, Daniel can fixing almost anything, Laura going back to college, Brett playing baseball and taking over his dad’s business, Cammie taking care of children and going to college, BellaDonna dancing and graduating from Hamilton, Andrew playing piano and going to Clarkson. These words cannot define her or what she has meant to so many. They cannot express the love she had for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren or the joy they brought to her. They cannot measure the immense crater that she has left in all of our hearts. They are just words. One of the last things she said to me was, “This isn’t my last rodeo. Next time you see me I’ll be walking!” Now she is walking with the angels. Until we meet again mom, know that you are loved!
