Hanes, Lester Frank

Hilton: August 20, 2017 at the age of 84. He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce Tobias Hanes, and survived by his second wife, Barbara Hanes; loving father of Cheryl Thibault (Todd Gann), Jeffrey Hanes (Carmen), Jill Strenger (Kurt), and stepson Michael Benham (Andrea); wonderful Papa to 12 grandchildren, Ryan, Katie, Christopher, Cory, Jenna, Jordan, Kyle, Mackenzie, Alec, Kendall, Kourtney and Erin, and 4 great grandchildren, Kylee, Julianna, David and Emerson. Also survived by his cousin, Joyce Greenwood, and many dear friends. Les worked for the Rochester Telephone Company for 40 years. He was a member of the Local CWA 1170, the Genesee Valley Dart Association, Genesee Valley Wood Carvers, and the Chili Senior Center Carving Club. Les was a Korean War Navy Veteran and recently had the pleasure of participating in the 53rd Honor Flight Celebration, with son Jeff at his side. Les enjoyed his family, carving, garage saling, and Abbott’s chocolate ice cream. 

There will be no calling hours or service. Donations in honor of Les may be made to a charity of your choosing.
