Obituary of Charles Trickler

Charles “Chew” Trickler passed away at home Saturday (12/12/20) surrounded by his loving children. Per Charlie’s request, there will be no services and asks that everyone celebrate him in their own way with laughs and fond memories. Charlie was born on March 5, 1948 in Waterloo and was the son of the late Raymond and Shirley (Johnson) Trickler. He was a 1966 graduate of Waterloo High School where he excelled in football, baseball, and basketball. He would like everyone to know that he still holds the passing records at Waterloo High School from his time as quarterback (haha). He attended Wayne State College in Nebraska after graduation. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and his large family and friend group. He loved the outdoors and hunting for deer and turkeys with his sons. He loved to spend time at Seneca Lake whenever possible. He loved watching the NY Giants and Yankees play as well as watch old westerns. He loved Nascar and going to races with his brothers whenever possible. He loved to tell a great story that may or may not have been a bit embellished for dramatic effect. Chew is survived by his children, Pamela (Cliff) Stein, Geoffrey Trickler, Kimberly (Matthew) Alger, and Daniel (Lisa) Trickler; Grandchildren Ciara and Mark Campbell, Brianna and Jared Hendrix, Hunter and Drake Alger, Quincy Trickler, Julia and Hanna Trickler; Bryce Fegley and Samantha Kuney; Brother Gary (Celeste) Trickler; Sister in Law Annette Trickler, Aunt Emily Trickler; Uncle Ike (Barb) Trickler; several nieces; nephews; and cousins; and his best girl, his beloved dog, Lucy. Chew is predeceased by his parents; his brother Mick Trickler; and his niece Kelli Trickler. Charlie wanted everyone to know he had “one” more and had to go but will see you on the other side!
