Obituary of Daniel Kudla
ROCHESTER - It is with great sadness that the family of Dan Kudla announces his passing after a 20 year valiant fight with cancer on April 17, 2018, at the age of 57. Dan stood defiant and never let this fight take away that big beautiful smile or great sense of humor. He was a beautiful person, both inside and out-and touched the lives of anyone who knew him. Dan lived true to the adage: “only the good die young.”
Dan will be rejoining his Mother and Father, Nicholas and Betty Kudla, and Brothers Nicholas and James in Heaven. Dan will be lovingly remembered by his wife Kim (Winter) Kudla, daughter Liana (Dan) Hastings, Brother, Kenneth (Diane) Kudla, nieces, nephews, cousins and many new and lifelong friends.
Dan was an avid sportsman. He served on the board of directors at Outlet Sportsman Club and was a talented trap and skeet shooter. Dan was incredibly artistic in carpentry and had a remarkable niche for teaching- both in his profession as a Safety Professional, and as a NYS Firearms Safety Instructor.
The family would like to sincerely thank the entire Palliative Care Team, the 7th East floor Nurses and Care Technicians, as well as friend and Anesthesiologist, Dr. Fred McCrumb of Highland Hospital for their tireless efforts in providing Dan as much quality time as possible. Their medical expertise, empathic care and genuine kindness will never be forgotten.
Everyone is encouraged to join us in a Celebration of Dan’s life. This will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 26th at the Daisy Flour Mill, 1880 Blossom Rd, Rochester, NY 14625 with a champagne toast, light Hors d’Oeuvres and open-sharing of memories. Those who wish, may make memorial donations in memory of Dan to Lollypop Farm online or mail to 99 Victor Road, Fairport, NY 14450.
